Today's Topic #1: Slightly off.
Sub Topic(s): None, so to speak of.
I haven't writen since I was in Korea. Almost four months down the road, here I am. I think it is sad that I have only posted three times prior to this. Yet, I still say "Here I am," like this is my security blanket or my refuge... SAD. Anywho.
So Today's title, "The Amazing Disgrace..." I feel like ranting on a subject that has annoyed the ever-lasting shit out of me since I can remember. Reality TV and the Americans sucked in by it. Just now I was watching television with my wife (CSI, if you must know) and we switched the channel when it was time to watch "her show." To what did we apply our attention? The Amazing Race... I hate myself even more for actually sticking around to hate it. The premiss of the show is fantastic. Multiple teams race across the globe to compete in puzzles and challenges. Of course it is all for money. But the problem is that we feel that there is not enough excitement in the race or the challenges themselves. The remedy is to pick the most socially diverse teams and exploit the personal lives of said teams. Like I care who's doing who, and what their mother thinks... Honestly people! All that serves to do is waste time and require less effort from the studio.
Now, the part that scares me the most about Reality TV is that people LOVE it! I understand THAT less than the studios producing this crap! I don't really care what the bubbley blonde with big jugs is thinking because every time she says some thing it is as fake as her chest! To think that the studios screen these people and curtail the cast to US! Everyone who watches should be ashamed. I am.
